• 1. If you would like to request for a design to be cut/engraved using the laser cutter, please ensure that you attach/upload a .pdf file, all other file formats will NOT be accepted. If any other file format is submitted, (such as screenshots, .png, .jpeg, .docx etc.) your request will be considered invalid.

  • 2. Please specify which material you would like to have your design engraved/cut out on. The options are perspex/acrylic, 3mm or 6mm plywood (thickness), cardboard or trolase.

  • 3. For perspex/acrylic, please specify which colour you would like your design to be engraved/cut using (such as black, white, clear/transparent, red, yellow, green, blue or orange). You are more than welcome to have a look at the colour selection before submitting a ticket. All colours are subject to availability.

  • 4. If your preferred colour is not available, a different colour will be used to complete your request. If no colour is specified, the next readily available colour will be used.

  • 5. Please specify the quantity needed for each file.

  • 6. Please specify the dimensions of your design in millimetres (mm), stating the width and height for each value (W x H). If you do not include/have a preferred dimension, the default dimensions of your design will be loaded in and used.

  • 7. Please note that some designs will be downscaled/sized if it exceeds the material's maximum dimensions (i.e. if a design is too large for a cardboard sheet or bed size).

  • 8. There are no exceptions for submitting any designs that are deemed inappropriate, regardless of whether they are intended for school or personal use. This includes but is not limited to; firearms, melee weapons, toy guns or any components relating to or resembling parts of a weapon, dangerous items etc. Any and all requests of such nature will be immediately closed/disregarded.

  • 9. All laser cutting requests should be given a lead time of 2-3 days (not including weekends). Some delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a large influx of requests submitted within a close timeframe, backlogged tickets, and busy periods of subject summative tasks/projects. It is the responsibility of the requester to submit a required job as early as possible to avoid any delays, as tickets marked 'urgent' will be treated the same as normal priority. This is to ensure equal fairness of time allocated across all requests and discourage line skipping / pushing to the front.

If you have any further questions please feel free to speak to the Hive Technician first before submitting a ticket if you are unsure about anything.
